Biography:

Gerdi became king 1956 born in Speyer and studied art and textile design in Karlsruhe.

The artist about his work:

“My paintings take the viewer into the multi-layered world of thought of our current present, the focus is often on the human being with all his emotions, needs and personality differences, alone or in interaction with other people, the environment, of nature.

My paintings open intense, exciting colour- and image spaces. Compositions of high compositional density and power are created. In these abstract pictorial structures, figurative details often provide indications for accentuation of content.

The compositions, which arise in numerous experimentally processed layers, tell the respective stories in a multifaceted and subtle way and offer the viewer the opportunity to develop them further”.
